Which printing Methods can be rendered in Multicolor?

A method of producing color impressions repetitively on a paper or material by from plates on a machine or press is known as multicolor printing.

Multicolor printing methods

  1.  Flexography
  2.  Rotogravure
  3.  Lithography
  4.  Digital Printing
  5.  Screen Printing

Flexography

Flexography or also known as “Flexo” is a printing process in which flexible relief plates are utilized. Flexography uses rubber or polymer plastic plates; thus these plates are flexible and less expensive.

Rotogravure

In the Rotogravure printing process, the image is engraved onto the cylinder-like Flexography. Though its a simple process, the company that uses this process is the larger once and tends to produce complex things.

Lithography

The lithography Printing method is based on the immiscibility of oil and water. The printing is done from a stone or printing plates with a smooth surface. From these stones or plates designs are transferred to the material.

Digital Printing

Digital printing is one of the fastest-growing printing technology. In this method, the computer monitored color for PMS matching, and target production is used. This method is used by most textile owners.

However, for color matching or color recognition you must not rely on computer-based color matching because the monitor uses RGB profiles while in printing CMYK profiles are used. Instead, you should follow these steps, to avoid disastrous end results.

Screen Printing

Screen printing uses a fine mesh with the stencils attached. Waterproof blocks are used to block the design area of the garment. Then Squeegee runs across the surface for printing the design onto the garment.
