There are various steps to get started with the photo album add-on. The backend configuration for the Photo Album is provided on the product detail page. This article will help you select the Photo Album Orientation, album page count, set the default Photo Album Layout and Design Ideas Templates on frontend view, and page limitations, all necessary steps in order to successfully add a photobook product.
In the backend the Photo Album add-on features tab can be found in the product designer tab on the left panel. Navigate to Product designer > Photo Book.
- Manage Photo Book Layouts – Here you can create and manage the layouts. Layouts are mandatory to assign to give your customers an idea about the design orientation and product types.
By clicking on “Manage photo book layouts”, you can view the list of layouts along with details like name, orientation, and current status.
To create a new layout:
- Click on “Add layout”.
- Enter layout name.
- Enter the product type – Coffee Table or layflat.
- Enter it’s orientation- Landscape or portrait.
- Add the main image.
- Add the masking
- Enable the Image status and click save.
Later, you can edit any Layout by clicking the ‘Edit’ option under Action. To delete any layout, select the layout first and then select the Delete from ‘Actions’ dropdown and click on the ‘Submit’ button.
- Manage Design Ideas: You can provide your customers with existing design idea templates using this feature. With the help of this tab you can add, manage and list the design ideas.
To create new design ideas:
- Click “Add new design idea”
- Add the page name you want to add the design idea for.
- Add its product type – Calender or Photobook.
- Add its orientation
- Add the main image, masking image as well as the background image.
- Enable it’s status and click save.
- Manage Background: Here you can add and list all the backgrounds in this tab. To create new background textures
- Click “Add Background”
- Add the background image.
- Enable the status and click save.
- Manage spine width: Spine width can be added only in the coffee table products. To add new spine width. When you click on the “manage spine width” option you’ll be redirected to the “Manage spine width” page where all the width details are listed.
- Click “Add new spine width”
- Add the details, number of pages, from page and end page
- Add the width of the product
- Select the product you want to associate the width with.
