There are different types of printing methods for the fabrics, and each one of them delivers different results. The type of fabric printing method based on certain considerations, from the printing process to durability. We have hauled some of the most commonly used printing methods and explained them below.
Fabric printing methods
1. Roller Printing
In this printing process, the dye is applied to the fabric and the fabric has to go through design engraved rollers in the printing machine.
2. Stencil printing
This printing method refers to the use of stencils cut in the form of designs. The color/dye is applied to the space between stencils. Mostly stencils are made of wood paper or plastic.
3. Block printing
In this method, the designs are printed with the block of wood or any material with the engraved designs.
Wood or any other material is carved in the design and then dye is applied to them. Then these blocks are pressed on the surface of the fabric.
4. screen printing
The screen printing method is one of the most commonly used printing methods. In this method, the screen/film is used to transfer the designs to the fabric.
In this method, stencils and nylon mesh are used. The area which does not have designs is covered with the block and then the screens are placed on the fabric and then the wooden squeegee is used to work the color through the screen to the fabric.
5. Heat transfer printing
This method involves the heat press machine and printing machine for transferring a print on to fabric.
Firstly, the printing is done on paper first and then the designs are transferred to the fabric by passing the designs and fabric between the rollers. This process is one of the less expensive methods used in the printing industry.
6 Dye Sublimation
This process produces some of the best results of all the printing processes. The designs are printed on the thermal paper, this paper is known as Dye Sublimation paper. Then both the fabric and the dye-sublimation paper are passed through the machine in which the heat and pressure are used to transfer the ink to the fabric.
7 Spray printing
As the name itself suggests the specialized sprays are included in this printing method. The specialized sprays are used to transfer the designs on to the fabric.
