How to Manage Printing Methods

You can add and manage multiple printing methods from the Product Designer ➤ Manage Printing Method.

Note: These printing methods are created for our demo store.

After clicking “Manage Printable Methods”, you will get the list of Printing methods along with the details like Name, Method Type, Printing Description, Store View.

To add a new printing method, click on the “Add Printing Method” button. It will navigate you to the “Add Printing  Method” page.

Fill the following details:

  • Name: Enter the relevant name for your printing method.
  • Description: Enter the description of the printing method. 
  • Minimum Printing Quantity: Enter the specific minimum quantity for the particular printing method.
  • Store Views: Select the store view on which the printing method will be visible.
  • Printing Method Execution: Select the Printing Method Execution from “By Color Quantity” or “By Area Size” for your printing method.
  • Status: Select the status of your printing method (Enable/Disable).

After inserting all the details related to the printing method, click on the “Save Printing Method”.

Now, the printing method can be seen on the list.

To delete any printing method, select the printing method, and click on the “Delete” button from the “Actions” drop-down menu. A confirmation message will pop-up after clicking on the “Delete” button. Select “Ok” to delete the selected printing method.

To edit any printing method, click on the “Edit” button related to the printing method and you will be redirected to the “Edit Printing Method”.

Printing Cost

There is always a variation found in the printing cost of any product. It depends on the “Printing Method Execution” of a particular printing method. If Color Quantity is selected, then the printing cost of the product will be based on the number of colors added to the product design. If the Area Size is selected then the printing price will be as per the size of the area in the product design.

In the PrintXpand Designer tool, you can manage the printing cost:

  • By Color Counter
  • By Area Size

Manage Color Counter

Through this feature, you can configure the price on the basis of Color Quantity. Go to Product Designer ➤ Manage Color Counter and a complete list of color counts along with their respective costs that can be seen.

Note: These Color Counters are made for our demo store.

To add a Color Counter, click on the “Add Color Counter” button. As you click on the “Add Color Counter” button, you will be redirected to the “Add Color Counter” page.

Fill in the following details:

Color Count: Enter the “number of colors” that can be used during printing.

Cost: Enter the “cost” of using a particular color count during printing.

After filling in the details, click on the “Save Color Counter” button.

Later, we can delete the Color Counter by clicking the delete button from the action dropdown and we can edit as well by clicking the “Edit” button of the color counter.

Manage Area Size

Through this feature, you can configure price on the basis of Area Size. Go to Product Designer ➤ Manage Area Size and you can see the complete list of color counts along with their respective costs.

Note: This Area Size is added for our demo store.

To add a new area size click on the “Add Area Size” button, you will be redirected to the “Add Area Size” page.

Fill in the following details:

Area Size Title: Enter the relevant title for area size. 

Area Size Start: Enter the area size from where it begins in pixels.

Area Size End: Enter the area size where it ends in pixels.

Area Size Price: Enter the “Cost” of the defined area size.

After all the configurations like “Printing Methods” and “Printing Colors”, your customer can design their product from the different color and printing options available. The price of the product will be changed according to the printing configuration.

Note: The printing method will be asked when the customers add their designed product to the cart.
