Yes, to enable the Contour Cut you need to do some product-level configuration.
Backend
Navigate to the Catalog > Products you will land on the listing page of the product. Now open the product in edit mode and scroll down to the Product Designer section.
In the Section, select the Product type as Custom Size and the Canvas Resize section will be visible. In the Canvas Resize section there will be a Cut Line field. Enable the Cut Line field and the Contour Cut functionality is enabled on the frontend.
In the section, there will be a Canvas Resize section, in which you shall enable the Cut Line feature.
Note: The Cutline Field shall only be visible for the Simple Product
