SKU is an acronym for Stock Keeping Unit which is a unique identification code given to every product in an online Magento store. The product can be identified on the basis of its manufacturer, color or size options and price, etc.
SKU makes it effortless for you and others to find and search for the product.
Backend
To add the SKU of your product, go to Catalogs ➤ Products, you will redirect to the “Products” page.
Now click on the “Add Product” button and you will redirect to the “Product Configurations” page.
Here you can add the SKU of the product in the “SKU” field. SKU is mandatory to add to your product as it helps in identifying the product and track inventory.
