Drop on Demand (DOD) is the process related to the usage of droplets of materials deposited and cured on the build area. Photopolymers or wax are used as droplets that cure with the exposure of light.
How does it work?
The Drop on Demand printers ejects the droplets from the print head only when required on the build plates to form an object layer by layer. The DOD printer uses a fly-cutter to glide the build area after each layer is created, this ensures the flat surface before rolling the next layer.
