Introduction
Our PrintXpand 4.0 Designer tool provides you a free hand to ‘Manage Printable Colors’ and different ‘Printing Methods’. You can enable/disable some printing options for your customers as per your convenience and printer compatibility.
Backend Configuration
Manage Printing Method
To add and manage multiple methods of printing, go to Product Designer → Manage Printing Methods. [1]
As you click on “Manage Printing Methods”, you will get the list of Printing Methods along with details like ID, Printing Methods Name, Printing Description, Status and Actions.[2]
You can add a new ‘Printing Method’ by clicking on the “Add Printing Method” button. It will navigate you to the ‘Add Printing Method’ page. [3]
Now, add the following details:
Printing Method: Enter the name of the printing method.
Description: Enter the description for the printing method.
Minimum Product Qty: Specify a minimum quantity for using this particular printing method.
Base Price: Enter the base price for the products.
Name (Color Options): Specify the name for the Color options.
Name (Size Options): Specify the name for Size options.
Color Palate: Select Yes to enable the color palate.
Select Unit: Select the unit to calculate area size based printing method.
Status: Select Enable to enable the printing method.
Printing Cost
There is always variation found in the Printing cost of any product design. It depends on the ‘Printing Method Execution’ set for a particular printing method.
To configure the pricing, scroll down to the Options section and enter the following details:[5]
Select Type: select the type of pricing methods based on : Flat, Color and Size.
Flat: Enable the Flat option to set a flat price. When this option is selected, only the Base Price will be applicable.
Color Type: Enter the color value. The printing price for colors will be calculated based on this value.
Size Type: Enter the size value for the selected unit. The pricing will be calculated based on this value.
Title: Enter the Title for the selected type.
Max value: Enter the value for the selected type.
For Size type enter the value of size.
For color type select the number of colors from dropdown available options are 1,2,3 and Full.
Price: enter the price for the following option.
Configure: Click Configure to set up tier pricing for the selected option.
Action: Click the Delete icon to remove a row.
Add: Click Add to create a new row in the options table.
After all the configuration, click on the “Save” button to add the printing method.
Printing Method for Product
Now, after adding “Printing Methods”, the added methods will be displayed in the ‘Printing Method’ list in the ‘Product Designer’ option of any Product.[1]
For that, navigate to Catalog → Products → Designer Designer Setting. Now scroll down to the “Design area”.
Here you will get two types of Printing method :
Global Printing Method: This method allows you to configure multiple printing methods that will be applied to all design areas of the product. The same set of printing methods will be available across every design location, ensuring a consistent printing configuration.
Location-wise Printing Method: This method allows you to assign different printing methods for specific design locations. You can configure unique printing options for each design area (such as front, back, or sleeve), providing more flexibility and control over the printing setup.
Now that the printing method has been set up for the product, let’s see how it works in the front store. The configured printing options will be available for customers when they start customizing the product.
Frontend View
After configuring the Printing Methods, now customers can design their products and also have the option to select the printing option. The price of the products will be charged as per printing configurations.
Global Printing Method
On the Product Design page, when the product is configured with the Global Printing Method, the customer can select the design area and choose a printing method. The final price will then be calculated based on the selected printing method, number of colors, and size options.[1]
On the Design Tool, the customer will be redirected with the same printing method selected on the Product Detail Page (PDP). The customer can change the printing method from the Product tab within the design tool.[2].
To view the details of the printing method, click View Details. This will open a detailed pop-up containing the pricing, color, and size information.[3]
The price will be calculated based on the selected printing method and options.[4]
Location Wise Printing method
With the Location-wise Printing Method, the user can assign a specific printing method to each design location, along with the corresponding color and size options. In the Designer Tool, only the locations that have been selected will be available for customization.[1]
